Indowud was born from a simple but urgent observation: every harvest season, farmers across India burn millions of tonnes of paddy stubble (parali), a practice that damages air quality and wastes a valuable natural resource. I saw an opportunity to turn this problem into a solution — by converting rice husk into engineered boards that could replace conventional plywood.

Founded in 2018, Indowud has grown into a team of about 200 people, driven by a single core purpose: to give architects, builders and homeowners a building material that is sustainable, safe and durable enough to be passed down through generations, without relying on the timber that comes from cutting down forests. In doing so, we support farmer incomes, reduce agricultural waste burning, and offer the construction industry a genuinely greener way to build.
