Fabrecreate began with a question that stayed with me long after I saw images of children displaced by the Ukraine conflict, trying to survive freezing winters without proper clothing or shelter. Around the same time, I was learning about the enormous amount of textile waste generated every year. I couldn’t understand how one part of the world had so much material being discarded while another lacked something as basic as warmth.

That thought led me to start Fabrecreate in 2023. The idea was simple: transform surplus fabric into something that could genuinely improve a child’s life. After months of research, prototyping, and working with textile experts, we developed the HOPE Jacket—a multi-functional jacket that converts into a sleeping bag, providing warmth and protection in difficult conditions.

As the initiative grew, so did its purpose. We realized this wasn’t only about reducing textile waste or distributing jackets. By partnering with women artisans from self-help groups to stitch every HOPE Jacket, we were also creating livelihood opportunities and empowering communities.

Today, Fabrecreate has supported nearly 10,000 children across India, Ukraine, Greece, and Myanmar through collaborations with NGOs and humanitarian organizations. Our vision has evolved from solving a single problem to building a circular model where environmental sustainability, women empowerment, and humanitarian relief come together. Looking ahead, our goal is to reach 15,000 children while expanding partnerships with textile manufacturers and global organizations, proving that discarded resources can become meaningful solutions.

Our Products & Initiatives

Fabrecreate’s flagship innovation is the HOPE Jacket—a multi-functional jacket that converts into a sleeping bag, designed to protect children living in extreme cold, conflict-affected, refugee, and disaster-affected communities. Each jacket is made using surplus textile materials, giving discarded fabric a second life while reducing environmental waste.

Beyond the product itself, Fabrecreate operates through a circular impact model. We collaborate with textile manufacturers to recover surplus fabrics, work with women artisans from self-help groups to stitch the jackets, and partner with NGOs, humanitarian organizations, and institutions such as UNHCR, ActionAid, and several grassroots organizations to distribute them where they are needed most.

We also actively engage with schools, corporates, embassies, and community groups through awareness campaigns, fundraising initiatives, volunteer programs, and CSR partnerships. These collaborations help us expand our reach while promoting sustainable consumption and responsible textile practices.

Every initiative at Fabrecreate is built around one mission: transforming surplus resources into meaningful impact—protecting vulnerable children, empowering women through dignified livelihoods, and creating a more sustainable future through circular innovation.

Our Social & Environmental Impact

Fabrecreate creates impact at three levels—people, communities, and the environment

For beneficiaries, HOPE Jackets provide more than warmth. They offer protection, comfort, and dignity to children living in refugee settlements, conflict-affected areas, disaster-hit communities, and remote regions facing harsh winters. Nearly 10,000 children have already benefited from this initiative across India, Ukraine, Greece, and Myanmar.

For women artisans, the initiative creates meaningful livelihood opportunities. Every HOPE Jacket is stitched by women from self-help groups, enabling them to earn a stable income, strengthen their skills, and contribute to a purpose-driven mission.

For partners, including NGOs, humanitarian organizations, textile manufacturers, and corporate CSR teams, Fabrecreate provides a practical way to combine environmental responsibility with measurable social impact. Textile companies can ensure their surplus materials are put to meaningful use, while NGO partners are able to reach vulnerable communities with an innovative and functional product.

From an environmental perspective, Fabrecreate has repurposed approximately 50,000 meters of surplus fabric, diverted nearly 100 metric tons of textile waste from landfills, and helped reduce greenhouse gas emissions through upcycling. Our model demonstrates that sustainability and humanitarian action can work together to create lasting, measurable change.

Our Vision for the Future

Our immediate goal is to distribute 15,000 HOPE Jacketsand expand our reach to more vulnerable children before the upcoming winter. Alongside this, we are strengthening partnerships with textile manufacturers to create a reliable supply of surplus and recycled fabrics, ensuring that our growth remains sustainable.

Over the next few years, I want Fabrecreate to expand into more countries through collaborations with NGOs, humanitarian organizations, and international agencies working with refugee and disaster-affected communities. We are also working to increase livelihood opportunities for women artisans by involving more self-help groups in the production process.

Beyond the numbers, my vision is to establish Fabrecreate as a global example of the circular economy in action—where textile waste is transformed into products with real humanitarian value. I hope to inspire more young people, businesses, and institutions to rethink waste, collaborate across sectors, and prove that environmental sustainability and social impact can go hand in hand.
